Karen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon. She has a master’s and a doctoral degree in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. Karen has years of experience as a counselor working with people across the life span in variety of settings including schools, mental health centers, hospitals and private practice.
She has worked extensively with people regarding traumatic or difficult life experiences, grief, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, addiction, and self-esteem issues.

I am excited about my work at Food Is Not The Enemy as concerns about food, eating and body image are central for many of us. From personal and professional experience, I recognize addressing these concerns and the underlying emotional issues can lead to feeling more satisfied in life and to creating the future you envision for yourself.

I use a variety of techniques in my work with people including strategies for understanding and impacting behaviors, thoughts and feelings. Primarily my focus is on listening deeply and working collaboratively to support you to get where you want to be.
